Titan X Pascal has been officially announced by Nvidia, providing a top end card for the Pascal line-up.
While the 1070, 1080 and lower powered 1060 have already been revealed by Nvidia, many wondered if they’d be working on a new top end card to replace the Titan X. Â Well, here it is, and it’s called…Titan X!
Well, technically it’s called Titan X Pascal to differentiate it from Titan X Maxwell and it will be labelled as such when it appears on their site.
At a webex event today, Nvidia divulged more information on the forthcoming card.  It’s due out exclusively on the Nvidia site on August 2nd, with no current plans for third party cards, just as with the previous Titan X. Nvidia are clear to differentiate the Titan X from the GTX gaming cards, hence the exclusion of retail partners and the company concentrating on selling the card on their own site (though retail partners will be brought in for areas not covered by Nvidia’s sales site).
Multiple cards can be used in 2 SLI as standard with support for 4 SLI when DX12 allows in the future, as it uses the same architecture as the GTX 1070 and 1080. Â That said, this card provides 11 TFLOPS and somewhere in the region of a 24% increase over the GTX 1080, so even on its own this Titan XÂ is a beast.
Display configuration remains the same as the other Pascal cards, too, with 3x DisplayPort 1.4, 1x HDMI 2.0b with support for 4K60 10/12b HEVC Decode. It does require a single 8-pin and 6-pin power connector to drive the 250W power requirement, though, being the most power hungry of the new Pascal card line-up.
Titan X Pascal launches on August 2nd in Europe and the US. The expected price is $1200, so we’re expecting £1000 or so, but UK and European pricing is yet to be confirmed.
